In Person Plan
Health & safety protocol for in-person learning.
Revised 7/1/2023
Mask Requirement
The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) and the CDC continue to recommend universal indoor masking, especially for unvaccinated individuals. Students who wear a mask consistently and correctly do not have to be quarantined from school following an exposure, provided they remain asymptomatic. Schools continue to practice social distancing when possible.
Social Distancing
Per CDC guidance, 3 feet of social distancing is adequate in the classroom when other prevention policies like universal masking are in place.
Athletics & Extracurriculars
Athletics follow GHSA, DPH, and GaDOE guidelines. Extracurricular clubs follow CDC, DPH, and GaDOE guidance; students may be asked to wear masks indoors at club events when distancing isn’t possible.
Household Exposure
Students living with a COVID-positive household member should quarantine for 10 days without a test, or 7 days with a negative test taken on or after day 5, with results provided to the school nurse. Students should not attend school while exhibiting COVID symptoms.
Home Instruction
Students at home sick or quarantined should complete schoolwork as soon as they are able, with classwork and homework turned in within three days of returning to school.
Reporting
School nurses serve as the point of contact for all COVID-related reporting. Please inform us any time a student or a student’s family member tests positive. Call our nurses at (229) 365-7858 ext. 6 with questions.
